Google is pushing HARD at CES 2018 to be in basically everything out there. PC World put together a nice list of 8 Android announcements that may have flown under the radar due to the sheer volume of things being announced at CES this year.

The ones that stand out for me are: more Android TV things than expected, Assistant in Google auto, and Razers ‘project Linda’.

One of my top CES announcements so far has been the Vivo demo of the in-screen fingerprint reader. The tech only works on OLED phones. From the short demo’s I’ve seen the scanner works pretty good. It did appear to take slightly longer than a traditional fingerprint scanner, but we’re talking milliseconds here. If this tech can be made in large enough quantities then the age of the true bezelless phone will truly begin.

I saw cameras and photography go from analog to digital, just like I watched music, movies, and everything else go digital. I lived in a world without Google and Amazon. I've watched mobile phones go from brief-case sized and mounted into cars. I've seen monochromatic screens change to color, and from non capacitive to full on touch screens. I've watched the rise of social media as well. I've seen at lot of stuff over my lifetime, so I have some insight into where tech has been that helps me better understand where tech is going.
